A small number of the HPE 800W Flex Slot Titanium Hot Plug Power Supplies (Generic Part Number 734868-001; Spare Part Number 754378-001 and Spare Part Number 720482-B21) may fail over time under normal operating conditions. When this occurs, the Integrated Management Log (IML) reports a power supply redundancy failure either as a repaired 'General Power Supply Failure' or as an 'Other Internal Fault' error. SCOPEAny of the server platforms (listed below) configured with any of the following Part Numbers for the HPE 800W Flex Slot Titanium Hot Plug Power Supplies: Generic Part Number: 734868-001 CT/Serial Numbers: CT date codes can be found under the 'Serial' heading in HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) by navigating System-> System Information-> Power Supply Summary. With the 800W Flex Slot Titanium Hot Plug Power Supplies, the Serial Number and CT Number are printed on the product label: For affected power supplies:

RESOLUTIONIf one or more of the Power Supply Units (PSU) have failed as indicated by health LEDs error indicators or the iLO status as described above, precaution should be taken in the servicing of the unit and/or replacement of the failed power supplies. Although the power supplies are hot-pluggable, HPE recommends shutting down the server prior to replacing the PSUs. To correct this issue, replace the affected 800W Flex Slot Titanium Hot Plug Power Supplies by ordering Spares Kit Part Number 754378-001 via the standard process. NOTE: All affected serial numbers in spare parts inventories have been reworked to correct this issue. Reworked power supplies can be identified by the presence of a 'Blue Dot' in one of two locations on the power supply label, as shown in the following graphics: Refer to the appropriate Server Maintenance and Service Guide for detailed replacement instructions.
